Franz Freudenthal is an entrepreneur and inventor who proposes diverse and novel alternatives to complex problems. He looks for the common good using business acumen and humane medical concepts. He has formal training as a medical doctor with a specialty in pediatric cardiology, but deep at heart he is an engineer, a builder, an inventor, an entrepreneur and a mentor.
Although he is quite capable and fond of following strict clinical research protocols, he lives by the motto “complex problems deserve simple solutions”. In applying this philosophy, he was able to put together a multidisciplinary team that manufactures medical devices (heart occluders) with the highest technology and quality standards, and exports them from Bolivia to the rest of the world. Children with congenital heart disease are treated with the occlusion devices all over the world.
